"Sacraments - I have 4 people trying it. so far very good. They have been on it for a week, 2 men had ringing in the ears. It is subsiding noticeably. One woman has stage 4 cancer with 6 months to live. She is improving back to no pain & doing her normal things again. She refused chemo & radiation. She has an aggressive rare cancer, that does not respond to chemo, but the doc told her is she does not take chemo she will die. Does not make sense. She is improving. We will keep you updated. Why Health Nuts are NUTS!
And it is NOT because they eat NUTS!
Most of us know that the ‘medical industry’ uses poison to “treat” illnesses as well as other toxic methods. It is called allopathy as opposed to natural path or holistic medicine ONLY using natural means. The problem is “health nuts” as the world calls people wanting to be healthy and NOT following the ‘medical industry’ has their own preconceived ideas about health and are as far from the truth as the ‘allopathic’ approach to health.
Let’s look at the TRUTH and NOT just try to make everyone happy and agreeable BUT look into how the body was designed to heal and what it needs to stay that way! There are MANY proponents of vegetarianism, veganism and EVEN fruitarianism! I do believe that eating clean organic foods are a must and vegetables and fruits are VERY important in our daily diet. Eating ONLY fruits and vegetables will create deficiencies that will take a toll of the body’s systems that NEED essential nutrients found in fats and proteins NOT present in fruits and vegetables! The body was designed a certain way and God knows what we need that is why we have these foods on earth! Many ‘heath nuts’ on these restrictive diets are taking a lot of supplements that cause their own problems in the body because they are NOT natural, and the body doesn’t recognize them the same as natural REAL foods. Case in point: the so-called Vitamin C – Ascorbic acid.
A great article to take the time to read: Natural Whole Food Vitamins: Ascorbic Acid Is Not Vitamin C: Source: http://www.thedoctorwithin.com/vitaminc/ascorbic-acid-is-not-vitamin-c/
Vitamins are not individual molecular compounds. Vitamins are biological complexes. They are multi-step biochemical interactions whose action is dependent upon a number of variables within the biological terrain. Vitamin activity only takes place when all conditions are met within that environment, and when all co-factors and components of the entire vitamin complex are present and working together. Vitamin activity is even more than the sum of all those parts; it also involves timing.
Vitamins cannot be isolated from their complexes and still perform their specific life functions within the cells. When isolated into artificial commercial forms, like ascorbic acid, these purified synthetics act as drugs in the body. They are no longer vitamins, and to call them such is inaccurate.
A vitamin is:

What is the reason you don’t eat meat?
If you are going to say that in the Bible Man was originally only told to eat fruit of the trees and herbs of the ground, then you would be correct! But, don’t ‘pick and choose’ what you like and disregard things that don’t fit your ideas or lifestyle. For instance, Below is where the Bible says in Genesis chapter 1:29-30,
29 “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.”
Yes, originally this was Man’s diet, 100%! But the same Bible says in Chapter 3:17-19 that something changed and now he would have to work to produce food and bread.
17 “And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
Again, because of the curse God killed the first animal to clothe Man’s nakedness.
21 “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”, Genesis 3:21
Now, raising sheep for offerings and food.
4 “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. 2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:”, Gen.4:1-4
God told Man to eat “every moving thing that liveth”!
“Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things”, Genesis 9:3 King James Version (KJV)
God did have A RESTRICTIVE DIET for the Children of Israel
“And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth
3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.”, Leviticus 11 King James Version (KJV)
Only the weak in Spirit eat just herbs?
“Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.”, Romans 14 King James Version (KJV)
NOTE: You might say look the bible says don’t judge me if I ONLY eat herbs! Well, I am NOT judging those that do that BUT God is! He says they are weak in the faith because God doesn’t teach that at all as you will see!
Note: There are diets and times of even fasting! These cleansing diets are VERY important. From water fasts, to juice fasts are great for a period of detoxing BUT NOT good for rebuilding the body’s cells. Pulse diets and fruit of vegetable diets have their place for a short time if needed.
First of all, If anyone wants to only eat vegetables or fruit that is completely up to you! I don’t believe it is smart for the health of the body, but it is your
life and not mine. I do have to say that because of what the G2Church is doing worldwide in regard to health and healing, I am obligated to show the truth about how the body works without be concerned about people’s feelings.
Are Vegetarians, Vegans and Fruitarians being guided by a seducing spirit or doctrines of devils?
Seem to me most vegetarians, vegans and fruitarians are ‘new agers’ which is a satanic cult! Also, ‘new age’ agenda is a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENTERS as we “ascend” to enlightenment! Please study the history of “illuminati”. This is REAL history folks!
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.”, II Timothy 4:1-5 KJV
NOTE: So, here in the Bible, we read that ‘seducing spirits’ and ‘doctrines of devils’ in the last days will encourage people to not marry and abstain from certain foods. God said “every creature is good and nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving”. Eat and be thankful to God!
Question: So, God says it is good to eat everything creature with thanksgiving. So, who is right?
NOTE: I will get into the ‘New Age’ movement in a future newsletter and G2Voice Broadcast.
Here are two videos to watch and learn.
· New Age Movement got me P0SSESSED by 30 Spirits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37ZnR4pN0f4
· Aquarius: The Age of Evil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBJftihe1yc
The New Age movement was spread through the occult and metaphysical religious communities in the 1970s and ʾ80s. It looked forward to a “New Age” of love and light and offered a foretaste of the coming era through personal transformation and healing.
NOTE: Watch out when you hear “love and light” be careful!
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”,1 John 4:1 King James Version (KJV)
“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”, II Cor, 11:14-15
False premises lead to false conclusions for vegetarians, vegans and fruitarians.
NOTE: I will talk about each point in this week’s G2Voice Broadcast Jan. 20th at 10 AM www.g2voice.is
1. NOT following how the body was designed!
2. Healthy history of mankind doesn’t support their claims.
3. They live on supplements like meds.
4. What they eat seems to be healthy BUT is it?
5. They believe our food depleted of its nutrients so worthless!
6. Eating predigested foods and drinks will keep them healthy!
7. Eating just a certain food group will still allow for the production of stem cells.
8. They are fighting against their OWN bodies!
9. They look down on others who are NOT on their diet.
10. They believe lies to appease their conscience?
11. There diet is making them crazy!
12. They are skinny so they are healthy!
13.They believe the Alkalinity scam!
14. Their bowel movements tell the Truth!
NOTE: Below are the definitions of Vegetarianism, Veganism and fruitarianism from their publications! I don’t agree with them in many areas but want all who read this newsletter see what they believe.
Vegetarian Society - Definition of a Vegetarian: https://www.vegsoc.org/definition
"A vegetarian is someone who lives on a diet of grains, pulses, legumes, nuts, seeds, vegetables, fruits, fungi, algae, yeast and/or some other non-animal-based foods (e.g. salt) with, or without, dairy products, honey and/or eggs.
Definition of Veganism
Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.
There are many ways to embrace vegan living. Yet one thing all vegans have in common is a plant-based diet avoiding all animal foods such as meat (including fish, shellfish and insects), dairy, eggs and honey - as well as products like leather and any tested on animals.
History of Veganism
Although the vegan diet was defined early on in The Vegan Society's beginnings in 1944, it was as late as 1949 before Leslie J Cross pointed out that the society lacked a definition of veganism. He suggested “[t]he principle of the emancipation of animals from exploitation by man”. This is later clarified as “to seek an end to the use of animals by man for food, commodities, work, hunting, vivisection, and by all other uses involving exploitation of animal life by man”.
The society was first registered as a charity in August 1964 but its assets were later transferred to a new charity when it also became a limited company in December 1979. The definition of veganism and the charitable objects of the society were amended and refined over the years. By winter 1988 this definition was in use - although the phrasing has changed slightly over the years - and remains so today:
"A philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals."
So, what do vegans eat?
A great deal - you'll soon find a whole new world of exciting foods and flavours opening up to you. A vegan diet is richly diverse and comprises all kinds of fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, seeds, beans and pulses - all of which can be prepared in endless combinations that will ensure you're never bored. From curry to cake, pasties to pizzas, all your favourite things can be suitable for a vegan diet if they're made with plant-based ingredients.
It's not just about diet
Vegans avoid exploiting animals for any purpose, with compassion being a key reason many choose a vegan lifestyle. From accessories and clothing to makeup and bathroom items, animal products and products tested on animals are found in more places than you might expect. Fortunately, nowadays there are affordable and easily-sourced alternatives to just about everything. With over 30,000 products and services registered with our Vegan Trademark alone, living a vegan lifestyle has never been easier.
Other aspects of vegan living
Currently all medicine in the UK must be tested on animals before it is deemed safe for human use, but please note: The Vegan Society DOES NOT recommend you avoid medication prescribed to you by your doctor - a dead vegan is no good to anyone! What you can do is ask your GP or pharmacist to provide you, if possible, with medication that does not contain animal products such as gelatine or lactose. For more information visit the website www.medicines.org.uk, which contains information on medicines prescribed in the UK, including ingredients lists.
What is the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan?
Differences Between Vegan and Vegetarian. ... Some vegetarians also exclude dairy, some don't, and some may consume eggs. Likewise, vegans avoid meat, poultry, and seafood, but they also take it a step further by eliminating all animal products from their diet. This includes any type of animal milk and eggs

- 7. Vegan Food Is Always Healthier
- 8. Eating Vegan Is Cheaper Than Eating Animal Products
- 9. It’s Becoming Easier To Be A Vegan
- So what’s the moral of the story here?
1. There’s More Protein In Vegetables Than In Meat
The daily recommended amount of protein for men is about 56 g; women need about 46 g per day. Our traditional diets allow us to get protein from animal sources like steak, eggs, and yogurt. But vegans can’t have anything derived from animals, so where do they get their protein from?
Well, a lot of vegans claim that the protein found in many plant sources rivals what’s found in meat.
But doesn’t that sound too good to be true?
Here’s a list of protein packed foods…
- Tofu (firm, tempeh, natto): 20-30 g of protein per cup
- Navy beans: 20 g of protein per cup
- Hemp seeds: 10 g of protein per 2 tablespoons
- Sprouted beans, peas, and lentils: 9.2 g of protein per cup
- Quinoa: 8 g of protein per cup
- Green peas: 7.9 g of protein per cup
- Greek yogurt: 23 g of protein per cup
- Steak (top or bottom round): 23 g of protein per 3 oz.
- Sockeye salmon: 23 g of protein per 3 oz.
- Boneless, skinless chicken breast: 24 g of protein per 3 oz.
- Yellowfin tuna: 25 g of protein per 3 oz.
- Boneless pork chops: 26 g of protein per 3 oz.
Notice something here?
With the exception of Greek yogurt, most of the non-vegan protein sources provide more than double the amount of protein in less than half the serving. You’re going to need a lot of vegetables to make up for the protein found in non-vegan food items.
As you may remember from my article about delicious protein packed foods, we need the amino acids protein provides for our bodies. Protein allows our bodies to transport nutrients and supports our muscular tissues so we can move. From regulating hormones to healthy skin and hair, our body literally needs protein to perform every function it does.
Yes, vegans can round up the same amount of protein non-vegans would normally eat in order to maintain a healthy protein balance, but they’re just going to have to work harder in order to do so.
2. Our Primate Ancestors Are Vegan So We Should Be Too
Many vegans preach that since humans evolved from apes they should follow diets similar to our primitive ancestors.
MY NOTE: I don’t believe we evolved from apes! This FASLE premise can lead to some VERY dangerous conclusions. The worst being; God is NOT the Creator of Man as recorded in the Bible and Evolution is the reason Man is here!
What do gorillas and apes eat? World Wildlife says that gorillas eat a “mainly vegetarian diet, feeding on stems, bamboo shoots and fruits”.
According to an article in Huffington Post, apes in the wild “don’t develop obesity, diabetes or heart disease”. Vegans conclude that since apes don’t eat meat (or refined grains and sugar) and they’re managing to avoid serious diseases, we should be like that too.
However, as the article elaborates, apes have “a longer digestive tract than humans do, allowing them to more efficiently extract nutrients from plants”. Since we have shorter digestive tracts in our human bodies, we need higher amounts of protein in order for our bodies to perform at optimal levels.
What we should learn from our primitive ancestors is this: eat more fruits and veggies and make sure to eat lean sources of protein occasionally.
3. Humans Were Not Meant To Be Carnivores
Similar to ape diet supporters, some vegans claim that our genetic makeup determines that we shouldn’t be omnivores by nature.
Proponents believe that since we lack claws, sharp teeth, and strong hydrochloric acid in our stomachs to digest meat, we are biologically programmed to only eat fruits and vegetables.
However, research suggests that even though we don’t have the same bodies as carnivores in the wild, learning to cook and eat meat successfully actually evolved humans from apes. Eating meat and gaining new nutrients apes didn’t have access to actually enlarged our brains and furthered our evolutionary development. We became omnivores, able to eat plants, meat, and everything in between.
Suzana Herculano-Houzel, a neuroscientist at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, told LiveScience that, “It is certainly possible to survive on an exclusively raw diet in our modern day, but it was most likely impossible to survive on an exclusively raw diet when our species appeared”.
4. Vegans Easily Get Enough (Healthy) Fat
Since our bodies cannot make essential fatty acids, we can only consume them through our diets. There are three main types of omega-3 fatty acids: alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). You can find EPA and DHA in foods like fatty fish. These are readily available for our bodies to use the second we start digesting them.
However, even though ALA occurs in vegan friendly food like nuts and seeds, our bodies have a harder time converting ALA into usable forms like EPA and DHA.
Essential fatty acids are necessary for our bodies. And since they help brain cells function properly, LiveStrong states that a “lack of essential fatty acids contributes to cognitive impairment, depression, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease”.
5. Vegans Get All Of Their Nutrients From Plants Without Supplements
Many vegans have to take vitamin B12 because B12 is not found in anything that grows or comes out of the ground.
We only need about a microgram of B12 each day. If we’re eating animal based foods, we’re certainly getting more of this. What’s not used by our bodies goes to storage. However, stay on the vegan road long enough and those stores become depleted. And that’s really not great because this vitamin is critical to ensuring that our cells function correctly in our bodies.
Like I mentioned in my vitamin D post, we need this critical vitamin for bone and dental health, nervous system regulation, and preventing tissue damage.
Vitamin D is commonly consumed through dairy products and foods like tuna, salmon, and eggs. But we know these are all off limits for vegans.
While research proves that you can get your daily recommended amount of vitamin D by eating vegetables, vegans need to pay attention to the oxalate content of those vegetables for them to be worth it. If foods have a high oxalate content, less vitamin D is absorbed by the body.
So unless you like eating tons of kale for its low oxalate content, or sitting out in the sun to absorb your vitamin D during cold months, you’re going to need to add these supplements to your diet if you become a vegan.
6. Vegans Never Have Cancer Or Heart Disease
Part of this lie is true.
Since vegans don’t eat meat products or dairy, that rules out a lot of common junk food that people tend to overeat. Even though veganism might not be ideal, it’s better than the standard American diet.
However, vegans may be at risk for certain types of cancer.
Vitamin D, vitamin B12, and omega-3 deficiency can all contribute to cancer.
7. Vegan Food Is Always Healthier
Just because something isn’t made from animal products doesn’t mean it’s healthy.
For example, do you know what’s in butter?
Butterfat, milk proteins, and water. The process of butter churning has been around for centuries. But since it’s an animal product, vegans can’t use it.
Vegan approved faux butter like Earth Balance spread advertise their product with a natural name and logo aimed at vegans.
But the ingredients?
Palm fruit oil, canola oil, soybean oil, flax oil, sunflower lecithin, lactic acid, and ‘naturally extracted’ food color.
These are some of the worst oils to use and eat.
8. Eating Vegan Is Cheaper Than Eating Animal Products
As Antonia Noori Farzan wrote for The Billfold, while veggies and fruits are cheaper than meat per pound typically is, going vegan is still going to raise your grocery bill.
Farzan used to spend $270 per month on groceries, but that number jumped to $375 when she became a vegan.
No, it’s not the fruits and veggies that racked up the bill; it’s the other vegan approved replacements that are expensive.
- Vegan sour cream ($5.99) compared to organic sour cream ($3)
- Amy’s vegan macaroni and soy cheese ($4.69) instead of the real cheese version ($3.69)
- Vegan pints of ice cream that start at $6.99 (Ben & Jerry’s are usually around $5)

9. It’s Becoming Easier To Be A Vegan
While veganism is becoming more popular thanks to celebrities and clever recipes on the internet, vegans are still in the minority.
According to One Green Planet, “7.5 million people in the U.S. now eat diets that do not include any animal products”. While that number sounds pretty high, it actually only accounts for 2.5 percent of the population. The numbers are similar for other countries as well.
Unless you’re going to a strictly vegan restaurant, chances are that a vegan meal is going to fall into three categories: salad, grilled/ roasted side-dish-vegetables-turned-into-an-entree, or something on the menu with the protein taken off the plate.
Even though the trend is upwards, vegans are still going to have a hard time eating out with their non-vegan friends or family members.
So what’s the moral of the story here?
Well, I believe that just like there are tons of recipes for great lasagna, there are a ton of great ways to reach your health goals.
You can be healthy while eating a vegan diet, you just have to be honest with yourself and be more careful about supplementation and getting enough protein.
noun: fruitarian; plural noun: fruitarians
- a person who eats only fruit.
"I have been a fruitarian for three years"
Some fruitarians will eat only what falls (or would fall) naturally from a plant: that is, foods that can be harvested without killing or harming the plant. These foods consist primarily of culinary fruits, nuts, and seeds. According to author Adam Gollner, some fruitarians eat only fallen fruit.
For nearly 4 years I followed this extremely high fruit diet that was nearly void of any fat or protein. Within the last year and a half, I noticed some health issues including things like:
-loss of skin elasticity
-loss of muscle definition
Just to name a few.
I attribute these signs to the massive amounts of sugar I was consuming. In no way do I think that fruit consumed in any normal amount would have done this. Nor do I think that short term HCLF cleanses would have done this. These things did not happen overnight, and it took me a long time to even realize and accept that they were happening. Of course, the aging process is unavoidable but to be 27-28 and noticing drastic changes when my diet was “supposed” to be the healthiest out there?! That did NOT seem right to me. I slowly started doing my research. Looking up long term fruitarians to examine their health and how they looked after 10+ years of eating that way. I will not name call or show pictures of the examples I’m going to mention here only because I do not wish to criticize anyone else’s life choices. I will say that I did notice a pattern in people who ate PRIMARILY high sugary fruits for years on end. They all had a similar look, one close to what I had started noticing in myself. Another thing I came to find was that long-term raw vegans and/or vegans who ate a more balanced diet (still including fruit but not excessive amounts) seemed to look younger, fitter and more alive. And I will go ahead and name some of those people because I believe they are shining examples of long-term vegan and raw vegan health:
All of these individuals have TWO major things in common. They have been following a raw vegan diet long term and they do not eat fruit as their primary source of fuel. That isn’t to say that they eliminate fruit, it just isn’t what makes up the majority of what they eat. They all believe in abundance of greens, vegetables, nuts, seeds and even some healthy oils.
I have been studying health for many years now and am always willing to adjust my diet depending on what I believe will be best for me in the long run. After about 1.5 years of researching this specific topic and fruitarianism vs a more well-rounded raw vegan diet I have come to the conclusion that the latter is best for me. Absolutely nothing against anyone who disagrees with me or is thriving on a fruit-based diet I just don’t feel it is what is best for my body. I figured since there is so much hype on social media about fruitarianism, 80/10/10, HCLF (high carb low fat) diets and other similar ways of eating that I would be the odd one out and publicly speak about the topic. Again, it is my personal experience but perhaps it could help someone who is in a similar situation that I was in. I most definitely still plan on eating fruit, plenty of fruit in fact. Eating high fruit for a few days or even weeks could be an extremely beneficial way to cleanse.
When I say that I am not a fruitarian is it because I am no longer eating a diet that is 80%-90% fruit, it is not because I have ruled it out. It takes quite of lot of fruit to get up to that percentage. There were several years of my life where I was eating anywhere for 300-400+ grams of sugar per day from fruit. I just can’t in my now almost 30 year old mind comprehend how that can be healthy long term. Yes, fruit sugar is different than added sugar due to the fiber and water content and the way it is absorbed into the bloodstream. However, excess sugar is excess sugar no matter where it is coming from and unless you’re an ultra athlete it is going to be hard to burn off all of that sugar in a day, even if it is coming from fruit. I now incorporate more greens, vegetables, protein, nuts and seeds along with my fruit and am really enjoying the benefits of high levels of energy, clearer skin, eyes and much more.
ALL FOODS ARE NECESSARY and WHY?
Question: Why do we need all foods:
Answer: Because of what is in them! Exclude one group your body suffers!

NOTE: I am giving you many perspectives about health and some of these things I don’t agree with BUT I want everyone to read articles. In fact, I want the people of this world to read and study to find the TRUTH!
The Trouble with Being a Health Nut
About 12 years ago, I found myself drowning in nutritional debt.
I was drowning so badly that I could barely digest anything, I had no energy, my hair was thinning and, at 20 years old, my metabolism was spiraling downward faster than I’d like to remember.
I couldn’t even go to a yoga class without experiencing what felt like uncomfortable bricks sitting in my stomach. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of a long journey with very poor digestion, food intolerance, hormonal imbalance, and low energy.
By this time, I was already an out-of-the-box thinker when it came to Western medicine, so I went to see several smart naturopathic doctors. (Seattle is a pretty big mecca for naturopathic medicine.) After blood work and other expensive diagnostic techniques, they all told me I was “fine.”
And I remember thinking, No, you just don’t understand me. It is not normal to feel this way!
I was beyond frustrated with doctors and starving for someone to provide real help and to understand what I was going through. (To be completely honest, it’s a slight bias I still hold against doctors today.)
I felt completely invalidated by the help that I sought. Even though I wasn’t truly rejected by my doctors, I got less than what I wanted and needed in terms of guidance, support, understanding, and relief from my symptoms. And, as many of you know, that rejection can lead to obsession.
And with that, a health nut was born.
The Trouble with Being a Health Nut
I want to let you in on a little secret I’ve learned, not only from my personal experience, but also from talking to hundreds of women from all over the world about their health. “Health nuts” can be among some of the unhealthiest people I’ve encountered as a nutritional therapist.
Now, that may sound like a very judgmental comment, so let me unpack it.
Many health nuts (my prior self-included!) are born out of a desire for something they are lacking in terms of health—something they want desperately but are having trouble achieving.
This obsession can create the motivation to try extreme diets and obtain results by any means. Many often put their health in grave danger by doing so. Some may try a ketogenic paleo diet (a very low carbohydrate way of eating that is typically reserved for those living in extreme temperatures like the Arctic where lush, carbohydrate-rich vegetation is not possible) or a vegan diet that deprives them of their body’s instinctual cravings for much needed protein, or even a supplement regimen so toxic it could actually damage their liver.
Many health nuts may try all of these and more in quick succession as they bounce back and forth like a ping-pong ball from one dietary extreme to the other, never actually knowing if it is helpful or harmful for where their body, especially where their digestive system is at.
This inconsistent way of eating can further feed the obsession for health, because now the inconsistencies in your eating has your body really confused. Your body can’t tell your extreme diet of caloric, protein, or carbohydrate restriction from actual starvation or harsh environmental conditions. The body’s interpretation of these drastic dietary changes lands somewhere between intense stress and the possibility of death, which often first manifests with the absence of normal digestive function and an obvious lack of energy. Not exactly the ideal scenario for someone seeking health.
More often than not, the body sends signals that the forced regimen is not working. Imagine these like the warning lights on the dash of your car. But instead of low tire pressure or low gasoline, they show up as things like: constant cravings, poor sleep, anxiety, restlessness, fatigue, digestive bloating or discomfort, infertility, and even depression (as you’re being forced to live with things you don’t want). Health nuts are so determined and focused on achieving their goal, they are blind to the fact that their eating path is actually creating more problems or making the current problems worse, leading them further and further from health. While it doesn’t always happen this way, that is the exception, not the rule.
If you are reading this, and you are a “health nut,” ask yourself this: is it because you are not seeing progress, reaching your health goals, or using your health obsession as a means of escapism to fill up time and thoughts in your head and avoid something else in your life?
I’ve found that when even the biggest health nuts start feeling better and seeing results, they often lose their obsession and rigidity around food. When they notice that they can still achieve higher levels of health by relaxing a bit about what they put in their mouth, their health often actually increases, and the obsessiveness about food slowly fades away.
My Own Self Sabotage
Getting back to my story, my obsession for getting healthy was sabotaging my health and I didn’t even know it. Someone once said that “success in life is based on the amount of uncomfortable conversations that you have,” and I think a lot of the time those are uncomfortable conversations you must have with yourself. In my case it was my painful Oprah-like “aha” moment that I was causing my own pain.
Why was I blaming doctors for not understanding me when I didn’t understand myself, or what was going on inside my body?
I didn’t understand how my eating habits were shaping and forcing my body to adapt its way of functioning from long-term health to short-term survival. And I didn’t understand what I could do to change it. Surely, I’m the only one who should be an expert on me!
But I felt so stuck. I thought I was destined to feel this way forever.
Seeing the Light
It wasn’t until years later (6 years to be exact), after exhausting research, nutrition schooling, and self-experimentation that I actually started to understand me. My body.
That understanding and education allowed me to tap into something way better than my previous obsessive and health nut ways. Instead of picking an extreme diet and administering it like a prescription drug that disregarded what my body was trying to tell me, I started understanding what my body actually needed and went from there. It was a radical shift in my thinking and approach that made all the difference.
And when I made that shift, things really started to change.
While the whole process was by no means a fairy tale (years of wasted time, money, energy, pain), I did get my body back on track. In hindsight, it wasn’t really a mistake because I actually learned from it.
Do you want to really understand your body?
If you’re suffering from low energy, weight gain, digestive issues, hormonal chaos, and/or diet obsession, I bet your body is starving for you to understand it instead of ignoring it and perhaps suffocating it with things it doesn’t want.
Because if you understood your body, you would have the knowledge to make changes and feel better.
That’s where the change and good stuff happen.
I know what it’s like:
…not wanting to get dressed in the morning, because you’re fighting your bloat or your body’s constant discomfort.
…feeling like your life is on hold, while you wait to find the missing pieces of your health puzzle.
…feeling so limited every day, and as if you can’t do anything to your full capacity.
…feeling overwhelmed with nutritional information (+supplements) and confused about what is helpful or harmful for where your body’s at (hint: it’s different for everyone)!
…wondering if you’ll ever escape it all.
And life doesn’t have to be that way. I’m living proof.
So, veganism, vegetarianism, and fruitarianism is NOT Nutritious. People get skinny but is that a sign of health? They feel better because they are stopping toxins from coming in!
This whole “belief” is NOT based on science but I believe is being promoted by the cancer society and the AMA and the rest of the medical mafia! Poor cancer patients are told to do the cancer diet when they NEED protein and fats to feed the body what it needs to heal. The health nuts that try to “alkaline the body” are slowly killing themselves by denying the body the things it needs – carbohydrates do very little for the body as you will see as we go on.
Question: Is it logical and within the parameters of how the body was designed to try to alkaline the stomach acid that needs to be a strong acid with a low pH?
Let me give you an example: Doctors, and by the way pay attention to the next chapter, “Don’t ask your doctor anything about health or nutrition,” say that you have acid reflux because of too much acid in your stomach, right? WRONG! So, the doctor prescribes an antacid to neutralize the acid in your stomach to give you relief. What is really happening is this. The food in the stomach is putrefying because there isn’t enough stomach acid to breakdown the food. The pressure or gas from the putrefying undigested foods builds up and pushes open the cardiac sphincter muscle that closes after the food passes and goes up the esophagus and you burp. It is just the opposite of what the doctor tells you, as it is most of the time! They are trained wrong and they can’t know what they haven’t learned! In fact, the curriculum that is written for them in medical schools are written by the pharmaceutical industry! I will get more into this in the next chapter.
I give people suffering from “acid reflux” hydrochloric acid 30 minutes before they eat three times a day and it goes away as well as have them eat protein which encourages the stomach to produce more acid not less!
Let me get back the how the stomach works NATURALLY and not some fable!
Tune in this week as we discuss this VERY controversial topic and look at it logically, historically, scientifically and Yes, Biblically!
